James Odell "J.J." Jernigan, age 74 of Paducah, passed away at Tuesday, September 7, 2021, 4:58 p.m. at his residence.

He was a graduate of West Kentucky Vocational and Technical College, a retiree from the United States Enrichment Corporation and formerly owned and operated J.J. & Son Lawn Care Service.

He was preceded in death by his parents, J. W. Jernigan and Nellie Dean Taylor Jernigan and one brother.

He is survived by his wife , Sandra Jernigan of Paducah, two sons, James (Evette) Jernigan of Paducah and Adam Joseph (Alison) Jernigan of Nashville, TN; two step-daughters, Robyn Tallent of Paducah and April (Larry) Wallace of Kevil, one brother, John (Maxine) Jernigan of Goodlettsville, TN; nine grandchildren, Austin Mayes, Jaylen Jernigan, Alexis Jernigan, Cody Tallent, Christian Wallace, Matthew Wallace, Amya Kendrick, Bailey Tallent and Zayden White; two great-grandchildren , Brycen Mayes and Oaklynn Tallent, several nieces and nephews.

Graveside services with military rites are scheduled for Monday, September 13, 2021, 10:30 a.m. at Woodlawn Memorial Gardens with Melanie Nunn officiating.  United States Army Military Honors will also be given.

There will be no visitation.

Masks are required for all attendees.
