Obituary

On March 19, 2025, the world lost a vibrant soul with the passing of James Albert McCall, lovingly known as "Pops" to many. Born on August 27, 1948, in Paducah, Kentucky. James lived a full and spirited leaving an indelible mark on everyone who knew him. He spent his final years in Mayfield, Kentucky, calling Fern Terrace home from 2010 until his passing.

James was more than a resident; he was a beacon of love and laughter at Fern Terrace. Volunteering as a resident worker, he devoted his time to helping with activities and assisting others in need. His free spirit and big heart made him a cherished friend to many, always ready with a laugh or a listening ear.

James is predeceased by his parents, Bert and Lillie McCall, and his siblings Dorothy, Harvey, Charles, John and Hallie Johnson. Though he has left this world, the memories he created and the joy he spread will live on in the hearts of those who knew him.

Though his family circle had grown smaller, the community that embraced him as one of their own will always remember Pops with love and fondness. The residents and staff of Mayfield Fern Terrace will feel the void of his absence deeply.

As we celebrate James' life, we hold onto the laughter, love and light he brought into this world. He will truly be missed.
