Obituary
James Albert Lowery, 70, of Paducah, passed away Wednesday, October 3, 2012, 8:10 am at Oakview Nursing and Rehabilitation Center in Calvert City, KY.
He was a member of Burks Chapel African Methodist Episcopal Church where he was former super-intendent of the Sunday School. He was a member of Teamster Union #236, a graduate of Lincoln High School, and retired truck driver for Tri-Mac Trucking Company.
He is survived by one son, Jeffery Albert Lowery of Paducah; two daughters, Angelia Woodard of Cleveland, OH and Sophia H. Lowery of Paducah; four grandchildren and three great-grandchildren; two brothers, John H. Lowery of Paducah and James Clyde Lowery of Cleveland, OH; two sisters, Wilma Twig and Gloria Ferguson both of Paducah; several nieces, nephews, and cousins.
He was preceded in death by his parents, James Clyde Lowery, Sr. and Sophia Mae Parsons Lowery.
Funeral service will be Tuesday, October 9, 2012, 12:00 Noon, at Burks Chapel African Methodist Episcopal Church with Reverend Rita Story officiating. Burial will follow in Oak Grove Cemetery.
The family will receive visitors at the church on Tuesday from 11:00 am until the funeral hour.
