James Leroy Greer, 77, Clinton, passed away Wednesday, September 17, 2014, 1:42 pm, at Parkway Regional of Fulton.

James was a member of Mt. Sinai Missionary Baptist Church of Oakton where he served on the Deacon Board and was caretaker of the church cemetery.

James was a member of Wilson Son Lodge #167 and was a retired truck driver for Edwards Trucking of Clinton.

James is survived by his wife of 21 years, Helen P. Crisp Greer of Clinton; three sons, LaThorne D. Greer of Jackson, TN, James J. Anderson of Nashville, TN, and Roy Coble of Martin, TN; two daughters, Vicki Love of Memphis, TN and Ruthi Scott of South Fulton, TN; three grandchildren; two brothers; Walter Thomas, Jr. of Clinton and Tyrone Thomas of Omaha, NE two sisters, Betty Davis of Paducah and Mary Price of Clinton; one aunt; several nieces, nephews, and cousins.

He was preceded in death by his parents Walter Thomas and Eva Mae Greer Thomas and infant son Leroy James Greer.

Funeral service will be Wednesday, September 24, 2014, 1:00 pm, at Mt. Sinai Missionary Baptist Church in Oakton with Reverend Anthony Johnson officiating. Burial will follow in the Mt. Sinai Cemetery.

Friends may call at the church on Wednesday from 11:00 am until the funeral hour.
