James Edward Dabney age 74 of Paducah transitioned from his earthly home on Wednesday, August 10, 2022, 1:20 a.m. at Mercy Health Lourdes of Paducah.

James was a former member of Mt. Olive Freewill Baptist Church where in his earlier years attended church conferences. He was a laborer in construction becoming an all-around handyman. Love spending time with his family, James had his hand in cooking especially grilling. He was fun to be around while listening to the blues music and James Brown. You would often find him watching cowboy flicks and playing cards.

James was a veteran in the military serving our country in the United States Army.

James is preceded in death by his parents, Ceaser Dabney and Julious Sussum Dabney, three brothers, John C. Dabney, Henry Dabney and William Dabney.

He leaves behind to cherish precious memories, one son, James O. Dabney of Paducah; one grandson, Brajone Dabney, two granddaughters, Janiyah Dabney ad Azariyah Dabney all of Mayfield, KY; three sisters, Georgia Carter of Decatur, IL, Jearline LaCour and Darline Washington both of Paducah and a host of nieces, nephews and cousins.

There will be no visitation or services.
