James F. Coffie, 83, Paducah, died Thursday, February 10, 2011, 7:00 p. m. at his residence.
Coffie was a long-time member of St. John A. M. E. Church where he served as a steward and was on the finance committee. He was a Veteran of the United States Army serving during the Korean War Conflict . He was employed for many years with the former Campbell's Sporting Goods Store.
Coffie was preceded in death by his parents, Luke Coffie and Florence Sthal Coffie , four sisters, and six brothers.
He is survived by one brother John Coffie, Paducah, KY; several nieces, nephews, great nieces, great nephews, and cousins.
Services are scheduled for 12:00 Noon Thursday, February 17, 2011 at St. John A. M. E. Church with Reverend Frank Price and Reverend Kelvin D. Robinson officiating. Burial with Military Rites will be Friday, 11:30 a.m., February 18, 2011at Mounds National Cemetery, in Mounds City Illinois.
The family will receive visitors at the church on Thursday, February 17, 2011 from 11:00 a.m. until the funeral hour.
