Helen "GiGi" Marie Reed transitioned to her Heavenly Home from Mercy Health Lourdes at the age of 58 years, 8 months and 1 day on Friday, November 20, 2020, at 9:00 p.m. She was born to her loving parents, the late Albert Williams and Sylvia Gordon Reed on March 19, 1962 in Sledge, MS.
She was also preceded in death by her granddaughter, Amerikus Collins; one sister, Mary Jane Reed; her maternal grandparents, Annie Mae Lane, Frieson Lane and E.J. Gordon; and three brothers, Lacy Reed, Willie Bee Reed and Author Reed.
Helen was a faithful member of Greater Lincoln Heights Missionary Baptist Church where she served in the culinary department. She was a 1979 graduate of Paducah Tilghman High School and attended Murray State University majoring in nursing. Helen was previously employed by Hawley Products and Purchase Area Laundry.
Helen was one who loved her family to the upmost, especially her grandson Mario. She was often called the "Hood Granny" and was everybody's "GiGi". She loved taking care of children, listening to all types of music, dancing, and praising the Lord with all her heart.
She leaves to cherish sweet memories; One Son , Mario (Kennetha Hite) Reed; One Daughter; Santanna Reed, B oth of Paducah ; Four Granddaughters, Chrishonna Burns, Myaunna Huckaby, Ka'Reece Reed and A'Staria Ramsey; Two Grandsons; Marce' Huckaby and Mario Ramsey, Her Grand-Dog; "Nick Reed" all of Paducah; Seven Sisters , Vera (Terrance "Boo" Jones) Reed, Charlene Reed, Dorothy Reed, Roberta Reed, Annie Reed, Gladys (Howard Blue) Reed and Brenda (Wayne) Davis, All of Paducah; Three Brothers , Willie Reed, Henry Gordon, and Bobby (Frieda) Reed, All of Paducah, KY ; Several Nieces, Nephews and Cousins as well as Her Special Friends ; Shirley McClure, Kim Martin, Brian Quion Hynes, Tony Ferrell, Amanda Greenup and Alicia Martin, A ll of Paducah .
Funeral services will be held at Pettus Rowland Funeral Home with Reverend Alfred Anderson officiating.
Due to the current restrictions to COVID-19, the funeral services will be private.
Inurnment will occur at a later date in White Oak Cemetery of Paducah, Kentucky.
