Gwendolyn S. Bridgett entered her Heavenly existence at the age of 75 years and 5 months at 3:17 p.m. on Thursday, June 1, 2023, at Mercy Health Lourdes Hospital in Paducah, KY.  She was born the lovely daughter to the late Willis Shaw, Sr. and Virginia McGee Baskin in Paducah, KY, on December 31, 1947.

Gwendolyn was of the Baptist faith and was a 1965 graduate of the former Lincoln High School.  She was formerly employed in housekeeping at Parkview Nursing and Rehabilitation Center.

Gwendolyn loved walking to various destinations throughout Paducah, especially to the Fountain Avenue Park.  She was also quite fond of traveling whenever time allowed her to do so.

Gwendolyn is survived by One Daughter, LaGreta (Henry) Hunt of Indianapolis, IN; Two Sons, Percy W. (Mechelle) Suggs Jr., and John Suggs, both of Paducah, KY; One Sister, Tanya Henderson of Paducah, KY; Twelve Grandchildren; Six Brothers, Thomas Jerome Alexander, Calvin Baskin, and Kenny Baskin, all of Paducah, KY, Sam Baskin, Jr. of Atlanta, GA, Don Shaw of Indiana, and Henry Shaw of East St. Louis, Il; Several Nieces, Nephews, Cousins, and Friends including Sandra Burns, Mary Pettus Rowland, and the Staff at Pettus-Rowland Funeral Home.

Gwendolyn was preceded in death by her Husband, Sherman E. Bridgett; Her Parents, Willie Shaw, Sr. and Virginia McGee Baskin; One Daughter, Sharon Suggs Wilson; One Sister, Marie Baskin; Three Brothers, William Baskin, Ricky Baskin and Willie Shaw, Jr.; Several Aunts and Uncles.

Funeral services are scheduled for Friday, June 16, 2023, 12 noon at Greater Lincoln Heights Missionary Baptist Church with Reverend Alfred Anderson and Bishop Charles E. Dunbar officiating.  Friends may also call at the church on Friday from 11:00 a.m. until the funeral hour.
