Obituary

Gus Thomas Williams, 69, of Paducah, died May 4, 2009, 11:00 P.M., at Western Baptist Hospital.

Gus was a retired US Army Veteran who served during the Vietnam Era as a paratrooper with the 101st Airborne Division in Fort Campbell and a retired bricklayer who was owner and operator of Williams Bricklaying in Fayetteville, NC. He was a member of the Church of The Living God CWFF where he served as usher. Gus was a Duke of Paducah and a former member of the Masonic Lodge.

Gus was a 1958 graduate of Lincoln High School where he was a member of the march-ing band and West Kentucky Vocational and Technical School as a bricklayer.

He was preceded in death by his parents Russell Owen Williams and Florine Irvin Williams, a brother Cecil Owen Williams and a sister Fannie Frances Barnette.

Gus is survived by three sisters Ella L. Whiteside, of Jackson, TN; Lorine Young and Diana Roberts both of Paducah, KY; Several Nieces, Nephews, and Cousins.

Services are scheduled for 1:00 p.m., Saturday, May 9, 2009, at Greater Lincoln Heights Missionary Baptist Church, 1324 Bloomfield Avenue, Paducah, with Reverend Alfred Anderson and Reverend Elvin Woodruff Officiating. Burial will follow with full military honors at Oak Grove Cemetery in Paducah.

The family will receive visitors from 11:00 a.m. until the funeral hour Saturday, May 9, 2009, at the church.
