Obituary

Gregory Treyshawn Jackson left his family and friends for eternal rest on Friday, November 3, 2023, at 1:32 a.m., from Baptist Health Hospital of Paducah, KY.  At the time of his transition, he was at the age of 16 years, 6 months and 27 days.  Gregory was born in Evansville, IN, on July 6, 2007, to Gregory Jackson and Sherrie Askew McCrite.

Gregory was an active member of The Rivers Church where he attended church on Tuesdays and Sundays with Brother Mike.  Gregory served in all capacities of the church and even kept the church lawn cared for to perfection. He was a sophomore at Paducah Tilghman Hish School and was employed at Wendy's Restaurant.

Gregory was very protective of his twin brother, Marqueese.  He was a great caregiver to his grandmother, Lela Askew, better known to him as "Nana."  Gregory was also quite fond of playing video games, watching movies, especially his favorite TV show, "Walker Texas Ranger."  He also loved going to dances, fishing with Brother Mike, and caring for his dog, Fluffy.

Gregory leaves his family and friends to mourn his passing:  His Parents, Gregory Jackson and Sherrie (Aaron) McCrite; Two Sisters, Ardaja Askew and Arjayla Askew; Four Brothers, Quante Askew, His Twin, Marqueese Jackson, Jakyrin Jones and Jalen Askew: One Sister, Jamariya Riley; An Aunt Who Was Like A Mother, Shenelie Askew and Maternal Grandmother, Lela Askew, all of Paducah, KY; A Host of Aunts, Uncles, Cousins, and Friends; Special Friends of Whom He Was Inseparable, Macorion Bradford and Janise Askew; His Step-Father, Aaron McCrite, Brother Mike (Ginger) Moore, and Layla McCrite.

He was preceded in death by his paternal grandfather, Billy Askew, Sr.; one uncle, Billy Askew, Jr.; paternal Grandparents, Brenda Lee Jackson and Gregory McNeil.

Funeral services have been scheduled for Friday, November 17, 2023, 11:00 a.m., at Greater Lincoln Heights Missionary Baptist Church the Reverend Alfred Anderson and Brother Mike Moore officiating.

Family will receive friends at the church from 10:00 a.m. until the funeral hour.

Burial will follow in Oak Grove Cemetery.

Donations will be accepted at Pettus Rowland Funeral Home.
