Gloria D. McHaney Gilmer age 86 of Paducah, formerly of Chicago, IL, passed away on Monday, March 16, 2020, 12:54 p.m. at the home of her great-niece Meagan McHaney.

Gloria had a nursing degree and was employed by several nursing facilities in the Champaign-Urbana, IL area.

Her family remembers her as being a sassy and well-dressed lady. She loved to dance, listen to music, travel and taking care of people especially her family.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Charles Gilmer, her parents, Charles McHaney and Lona Holloway Barton, one sister, Gracie McHaney, two brothers, Charles McHaney and George "Ping Pong" McHaney.

She is survived by two nieces; Deborah McHaney(Ronnie) Jones, Pavielle Fitzpatrick (Maurice) Palmer, four nehews; Michael Ray McHaney, Anthony Orr , Rico Orr and Gregory Childress; several great-nieces and great-nephews.

Gloria will be missed by all that loved, cared and knew her.

There will be no services. A private memorial will be held at a later date.
