September 22, 1956 – November 5, 2024
Gerald L. Conner awakened in the presence of the heavenly Father on Tuesday, November 5, 2024, at approximately 10:08 a.m. On September 22, 1956, he began his earthly journey in Paducah, Kentucky, as the son of his loving parents, the late Joe Lee Conner and Mary Bell Haynes Conner.
Realizing he needed spiritual guidance Gerald was baptized into the Macedonia Missionary Baptist Church family as a youth. He later joined Nehemiah Christian Ministries where he praised his Lord and Savior until his passing.
Gerald, formerly employed as a welder with Marine Ways of Paducah, was an extremely loyal person who protected his family with all his power and might. He was an avid animal lover who took tremendous pleasure in both fishing and hunting.
He was a fun-loving person. Once Gerald was the only customer at a Save-A-Lot Store. A lady walked up to him and jokingly told him she would have to get his autograph since he was the only other customer there.
Left to cherish fond memories are : His Daughter , Gwendolyn Osborne; His Two Grandchildren ; Three Sisters , Betty Fussell of Metropolis, IL, JoAnn Cawthon of Oakland, TN, and Glenda Conner of Paducah, Ky; One Brother, William Conner of Paducah, KY; A Host of Nieces, Nephews, and Cousins; His Best Friend since childhood, Bishop Charles Dunbar; and Special Friend, Quentin Marshall .
Gerald was preceded in death by a brother, Robert Conner, and two sisters, Annie Conner and Mary Hoskins.
Gerald L. Conner will forever be remembered by family and friends who loved him.
Funeral services are scheduled for Wednesday, December 4, 2024, 12 noon, at Macedonia Missionary Baptist Church.
Family will receive friends from 11:00 a.m. until the funeral hour.
Burial will follow in Oak Grove Cemetery.
