Obituary

George McHaney, Jr., "Ping Pong", passed away Saturday, August 3, 2013, 7:51 am, at Lourdes Hospital.

He was a member of Pleasant Grove Missionary Baptist Church and a graduate of the former Lincoln High School. He worked in construction as a concrete finisher and was a Veteran of the United States Army, serving during the Korean War.

He is survived by four sons, Michael McHaney and Tony Orr, both of Paducah; Rico Orr of Norman, OK and Gregory Childress of San Antonio, TX; two daughters, Deborah Cash of Paducah and Pavielle Fitzpatrick of Metropolis, IL; sixteen grandchildren; twenty-one great-grandchildren; one great great-grandson; one sister, Gloria Gilmer of Chicago, IL., several nieces, nephews, and cousins.
He was preceded in death by his parents Charles McHaney and Lona Holloway Barton; one son, Mario Orr; one sister; one brother.

Funeral service will be Wednesday, August 7, 2013, 1:00 pm, at Pettus-Rowland Funeral Home
with Verone Brown officiating.

Friends may also call at the funeral home from 12:00 noon until the funeral hour.

Burial with military rites will follow in Oak Grove Cemetery.
