George Thomas Dobson entered Heaven's Open Doors from Baptist Health Paducah at 7:50 a.m., on Monday, September 9, 2024. At the time of his entrance the Good Lord had allowed him to sojourn here on earth form 73 years and 11 days. His life began in Paducah, KY, on August 28, 1951, as the son of the late Thomas Dobson and Eloise Howell Dobson.
George was a member of Pleasant Grove Missionary Baptist Church and a graduate of Paducah Tilghman High School. He had also attended West Kentucky Vocational School.
On August 28, 1987, George married and united with the pride and joy of his heart, Miss Betty Landers.
George, AN AVID "CLEVELAND BROWN" FAN, enjoyed eating good meals, especially good crispy fried chicken. Whenever things were to his liking, he would always use the cliché', it's a "Bad Boy". George had an ear for all types of music. He had a great knack for playing both spades and rummy and oftentimes fished for the catch of the day. One other thing that was dear to George's heart was detailing his cars, taking extra special care of the tires, making sure they were the signature of his enjoyable work. George even through the years developed an appreciation for traveling to destinations far and wide to his liking.
George will later be untied with his loved ones, Hise Wife of 37 Years, Betty Dobson of Paducah, KY; His Children, LeKisha (Fred) Campbell of Smyrna, TN, TeTisha Kilgore of Haward, CA, Dana (Daniel) Davie of Paducah, KY, Janetta (Chantez) Jones of Knoxville, TN, LeeAnna Dobson of Nashville, TN, George Dobson II of Paducah, KY, Bonus Son, Ramon Kilgore of Cleveland, OH and Bonus Daughter, Thelma (Thomas) Williams of Bloomfield, KY; 16 Grandchildren; 5 Great-Grandchildren; His Siblings, Eloise Norris and Thomas "Humpy" (Debra) Dobson, Jr., both of Cleveland, OH, Inez (Terry) Thomas, Shirley (Joe) Johnson of Cleveland, OH, Rosie (Jimmie) Jackson of Smyrna, TN, and Susie (Larry) Dawson of Jackson, TN; A Host of Nieces, Nephews, Cousins, and a Wide Circle of Friends.
George joined his parents, his sister, Loise "Babe" Hollins and a brother, Bill Dobson, at Heaven's Gates to celebrate a great reunion in Heaven.
Funeral services have been scheduled for Saturday, September 14, 2024, 11:00 a.m. at Mt. Moriah Missionary Baptist Church with Reverend Michael Wade officiating. Burial will follow in Oak Grove Cemetery.
Family will receive friends from 10:00 a.m. until the funeral hour.
