Genever Shelton, 87, of Paducah, passed away Wednesday, March 30, 2016, 8:00 am, at her residence.

She was a member of the former Miracle Temple Disciples of Christ. She was employed as a tailor and seamtress with Hart Schaffner & Marx in Chicago, IL.

She is survived by five sons, Leslie Jones of West Bloomfield, MI, Gregory Shelton, Sr. of Chicago, IL, Roy Shelton of Indianapolis, IN, Jose Shelton of Killeen, TX and Anthony Shelton of Houston, TX; two daughters, Eva Adams of Paducah and Jeanette Shelton-Arnold of Benton Harbor, MI; Twenty-two grandchildren and several great-great and great-great-great grandchildren, nieces , nephews and cousins.

She was preceded in death by her spouse, Leevator Shelton, parents, Jake Davis and Alice Bryant Davis, one son, Duboise Shelton and one daughter, Ruth Boatman.

Funeral service is scheduled for Monday, April 4, 2016, 12:00 Noon at Pettus-Rowland Funeral Home with Reverend Paul Jones officiating. Entombment will follow in Maplelawn Park Cemetery.

Friends may also call at the funeral home on Monday from 11:00 am until the funeral hour.
