Frederick Eugene Hardy, age 89, of Brookport, IL, passed away Thursday, September 8, 2022, 4:13 a.m., at Southgate Nursing and Rehabilitation Center of Metropolis, IL.

He was a graduate of the former Brookport High School and a retired truck driver for Tick Brothers. A veteran in the United States Army.

He is survived by six sons, Michael Garry McGhee and Mickey Larry McGhee, both of Chicago, IL, Webber Hardy, Victor Hardy, and Christopher Hardy, all of Brookport, IL, and Lincoln Hardy of LaCenter, KY; One Daughter, Roslyn Henson of LaCenter, KY; one granddaughter, Christy Lee Hayes of Paducah, several cousins and friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents Douglas and Mary Lucas Hardy.

Funeral services are scheduled for Sunday, September 18, 2022, 2:00 p.m., at Pettus-Rowland Funeral Home with Sonja Bogan officiating.  Burial with Military Honors will follow on Monday, September 19, 2022, 11:00 a.m., at Mound City National Cemetery in Mound City, IL.

Friends may also call at the funeral home on Sunday from 1:00 p.m. until the funeral hour.
