Freda Mae Shannon Baker, 80 years, 7 months and 28 days old, Brookport, IL was called from her earthly home to her everlasting home at 3:02 P. M. on Sunday, August 29, 2010 at Medco Center of Paducah. Ms. Baker was born January 1, 1930 in Brookport, IL to the late Revie Shannon and Susie Hamilton Shannon.

Ms. Baker was a member of First Liberty Missionary Baptist Church where she served as an Usher and on the Mother's Board. She worked as an assembly worker for Paper Industry. Ms. Baker enjoyed fishing with her son Eddie and Son-In-Law Carl. She loved cooking for family and friends. Ms. Baker enjoyed playing bingo. She was the 2nd oldest female in the Brookport Community.

Mrs. Baker was preceded in death by her parents, Revie Shannon and Susie Hamilton Shannon; a daughter Rosie Lee Martin, two brothers and one sister.

Ms. Baker leaves to CHERISH and EMBRACE her memories:

Her Husband of 40 years: William Ruben Bennett Baker of Brookport, Illinois

Two Sons: Edgar (Linda) Martin of Brookport, Illinois and Ikie (Judy) Martin of Metropolis, Illinois

Three Daughters: Mary Blanton-Turley of Gurnee, Illinois, Freda (Carl) Phelps and Veronica (Reverend James) Draw both of Paducah, Kentucky

Two Step-Daughters: Brenda Harden of Broadview, Illinois and Diana Baker of California

Three Sisters: Gloria Shannon of Brookport, Illinois, Marie (William) Jones of Racine,Wisconsin and Sue Strong of Paducah, Kentucky

Three Brothers: Revie Shannon of Paducah, Kentucky, David Shannon and Lanfort Shannon both of Brookport, Illinois

18 Grandchildren, 30 Great Grandchildren, one step-grandchild, and several nieces, nephews and cousins.
