Obituary

Funeral service for Fred Carter Jr., age 59, of Paducah will be Saturday, July 12, 2008, 1:00 P.M., at Harrison Street Missionary Baptist Church. Rev. James L. Hudson will officiate and burial will follow in Maplelawn Park Cemetery.

He passed away on Thursday, July 3, 2008, 8:00 P.M. at Western Baptist Hospital.

Fred was a faithful member of Harrison Street Missionary Baptist Church where he had served as a Deacon and Chairman of the Deacon Board, sang with the Male Chorus, was chairperson of the church's Video Ministry and was involved in the maintenance and upkeep of the church.

He retired from the United States Enrichment Corporation in 2003 as a Security Police Officer. His former employers included Airco Alloys of Calvert City, KY and the State Transportation Department. He was co-owner of FC's Video. Fred enjoyed hunting , fishing and gardening.

Friends may call at Harrison Street Baptist Church on Saturday, 9:00 A.M. until the funeral hour at 1:00 P.M.

Those to cherish his memory are his wife of 38 years, Pearl L. Carter, Paducah, KY; Two Daughters, Vanessa C. (Vencent) Bell, Chattanooga, TN and Denise Carter (Allen) Malone of Huntsville, AL; A Son, Sergeant First Class Michael C.(Yvonne) Dickerson of Dayton, OH; Two Sisters, Mary (Jeremiah) Bryant and Felicia McDaniel, both of Brookhaven, MS; Ten Brothers, William (Laverne) Carter, Paducah, KY, Rev. James (Ruby) Carter, Rev. Carroll (Louise) Carter, Bennie McDaniel and Chauncey (Sandra) McDaniel, all of Lansing, MI; Eugene McDaniel of Pascagoula, MS, Henry (Lena) McDaniel of Duncan, MS, Lewis (Ora) McDaniel of Brookhaven, MS, Leon McDaniel of New Orleans, LA., Jesse Martin of Indianapolis, IN.; Ten Grandchildren, Volonte' Bell, Vonn Bell, Alysse Banks, Andrew Malone, Kanetra Kindred, Chaniqua Dickerson, Mikayla Dickerson, Alexis Winfield, Darien Walker and Dion Price; a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and other relatives.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Fred McDaniel and Otis Bell Carter McDaniel, four sisters and three brothers.
