Evelyn M. McCutcheon Bolen, 81, Metropolis, Illinois, died, Saturday, July 30, 2011, 11:40 a.m., at Lourdes Hospital.

She was a member of First Missionary Baptist Church in Metropolis. She was a graduate of Southern Illinois University and retired as a secretary at the Illinois State Capital and the Metropolis, Illinois Board of Education.

She was preceded in death by her parents Edmond and Gladys McGee McCutcheon, her husband James Bryant Bolen and four brothers.

She is survived by two sisters, Geraldine M. McCutcheon and Anna L. McCutcheon, both of Metropolis, IL; a brother, Billy Joe McCutcheon of Far Rockaway, NY; and several nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be Saturday, August 6, 2011, 1:00 p.m. at First Missionary Baptist Church of Metropolis with Reverend Garnell Edwards officiating, and burial will follow in Masonic Cemetery. Friends may call at the church, Saturday, August 6, 2011 at 11:00 a.m. until the funeral hour.
