Obituary
Ethel Lee Derr, 89, Paducah, KY died Friday, March 6, 2015 at 5:14 a.m. at Jackson-Madison County General Hospital in Jackson, Tennessee.
Mrs. Derr was a member of Burks Chapel African Methodist Episcopal Church where she served in the Addie Lucas Missionary Society and was a Steward of the church. She graduated from the former Lincoln High School in Paducah and received her Bachelor & Masters of Science Degrees from State University of New York. Mrs. Derr was a member of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Inc., served on the Paducah Beautification Board and was a member of the former Paducah Chapter of Links, Inc. She retired from the Internal Revenue Service in the Appellate Division.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Frank L. Derr, and her parents, Dallas K. Mitcherson and Ethel McGee Mitcherson.
She is survived by one son Frank F. Derr, Paducah, KY; one granddaughter, one great-grandson, one sister, Catherine Robinson, Buffalo, NY; several nieces, nephew and cousins.
Services are scheduled for 12:00 Noon Saturday, March 14, 2015 at Burks Chapel A. M. E. Church with Reverend B. Kennedy and Reverend Rita Story officiating. Burial will follow at Oak Grove Cemetery of Paducah.
The family will receive visitors from 11:00 am until the funeral hour on Saturday, March 14, 2015 at the church.
