Eric Scott Kimmins, age 46 years, 3 months and 24 days, transitioned from his earthly home to God's eternal rest on Monday, July 19, 2021, at his residence.

Eric was baptized and a member of Oak Grove Presbyterian Church ; Mt. Horeb Freewill Baptist Church in Metropolis, IL, where he drove the church van and participated with the Youth Ministry; and lastly First Missionary Baptist Church, Metropolis.  He was a graduate of Joppa High School, 1993, and received his certification as an Automotive Technician at Shawnee Community College. He was formerly employed at Electric Energy, Inc. and Little Tractor.

Eric was one who loved fishing, hunting, and playing video games.  He had a deep passion for working on cars and would tinker with and fix anything that was set before him. Eric had a memory that would make him a great opponent in the game of trivia.

Eric was most of all a father and grandfather who loved his family and parents dearly.  He was also an individual who had a big heart in giving to everyone.

Eric was preceded in death by a cousin/brother Kevin Kimmins.

He leaves to cherish his sweet memory; two sons, Princeton Kimmins of Metropolis, IL and Traelin Kimmins of Paducah, KY; one daughter, Aaliyah Kimmins of Metropolis, IL; his parents , Charles L. Kimmins of Joppa, IL and Fay Taylor Kimmins of Paducah, KY; one grandson , Kingston Kimmins of Metropolis, IL; two sisters , Vanessa Jones of Paducah, KY and Sharlisa (Nashid) of Lorton, Virginia; one brother, Charles "Chuck" (Jessica) Kimmins of Fairview, TN; four paternal aunts, Marie Harrell and Janice Kaiszer, both of Rock Island, IL, Gwendolyn Willis and Kathy Kimmins, both of Perks, IL; one maternal aunt, Carolyn Taylor of Marion, IL; special companion , Barbara Stubblefield of Metropolis, IL.

Memorial services are scheduled for Saturday, July 31, 2021, 1:00 p.m., at Joppa Missionary Baptist Church, 215 Pearl Street, Joppa, IL 62953.
