Elvie Jean Hughes, 61, of Paducah, passed away Monday, December 12, 2016, 7:55 p.m., at the Ray and Kay Eckstein Hospice Care Center of Paducah.

Jean was a former member of Johnson Chapel Missionary Baptist Church of Hickman, KY. She was a graduate of both Fulton County High School and West Kentucky Vocational School where she received certification in tailoring. She was employed at Reidland's Clothing for over 20 years, retiring in October, 2016.

She is survived by one son, Dominique Hughes of Paducah; one daughter, Kayla Hughes of Brookport, IL; three brothers, Larry Jackson of Paducah, Steven Westbrook of Colleen, TX and Lason Parm of Henderson, KY; six sisters, Janice Shiwoniku and Sandra Burns, both of Paducah, Marla Jackson-Lawrence of West Columbia, SC, Lisa Coleman and Michelle Brown, both of Hopkinsville, KY and Cathy Fitts of Kokomo, IN; four grandchildren; several nieces, nephews, and cousins.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Walvy Westbrook, Jr. and Mamie Lee Cook Jackson, one brother and one sister.

Funeral services will be held Friday, December 16, 2016, 1:00 p.m. at Mt. Moriah Missionary Baptist Church with Reverend Calvin R. Cole, Sr. officiating. Burial will follow in Oak Grove Cemetery.

Friends may also call at the church on Friday from 11:00 a.m. until the funeral hour.
