Elmo Thomas, 63, of Paducah, passed away Tuesday, June 14, 2016, 2:30 am, at the Ray and Kaye Eckstein Hospice Care Center of Paducah.

He was a member of Hills Chapel African Methodist Episcopal Church, a retiree in the maintenance department of the Barkley Dam Corps of Engineers. He was a Veteran of United States Marine Corps serving during the Vietnam era.

He is survived by his wife of 32 years, Francis Copeland Thomas of Paducah; one daughter, Mary Copeland of Paducah, two sons, Elmo Thomas, Jr. and Joseph Lee Thomas, both of Paducah; seven grandchildren and four great-grandchildren; three brothers, Jessie Johnson and Clifton Wilson, both of Paducah and L.A. Jackson of St. Louis, MO; two sisters, Carolyn Harris and Dorothy Kenner, both of Paducah; several nieces, nephews, and cousins.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Zelmo Thomas and Maybelle Titsworth Ray.

Funeral service is scheduled for Friday, June 24, 2016, 1:00 pm, at Burks Chapel African Methodist Episcopal Church with Reverend B. Kennedy and Reverend Ronnie Mason, Sr. officiating. Burial will follow in Oak Grove Cemetery with military rites.

Friends may also call at the church on Friday from 11:00 am until the funeral hour.
