Elma W. Moody, 101, Paducah, died Saturday, December 31, 2011, 4:30 pm at Medco Center of Paducah.
Mrs. Moody was a faithful and dedicated member of Miles Chapel Christian Methodist Episcopal Church working in the Youth Ministry and served as a stewardess. She was a graduate of Edward Waters College in Jacksonville, FL. She retired as a school teacher after teaching in Florida and Kentucky Public School Systems.
Mrs. Moody was preceded in death by her husband, Reverend James Richard Moody, her parents, Reverend Malachi Lemuel White and Anna Bellemy White, and one sister, Aleitha White Milton.
She is survived by eight nieces, Nora M. Harriford, Sherry Eyvonne Orr, both of Paducah, KY, Sylvia Jeanette Harrison, New Albany, IN, Anna Ruth Brown, Compton, CA, and Elma Louise Buckner, Evansville, IN; Kathana Taubodo, Martha Dade, and Altamese Smith, all of Pensacola, FL.; One nephew, Dr. Fredrick Milton, of Daytona Beach, FL.; Six great nieces, three great nephews, several great-great nieces, great-great nephews and other relatives.
Services are scheduled for 11:00 A. M. Saturday, January 7, 2012 at Miles Chapel Christian Methodist Episcopal Church 762 Levin Avenue, Paducah, KY 42001 with Reverend Kimberley Traylor and Reverend DeWayne Golightly officiating. Burial will follow at Woodlawn Memorial Gardens.
The family will receive visitors Saturday, January 7, 2012, from 10:00 am until the funeral hour at the church.
