Elder Scott I. Wright joined his Heavenly family and friends on Sunday, January 14, 2024, from the Vanderbilt University Medical Center in Nashville, TN.  He was at the blessed age of 57 years, 6 months and 7 days.  He was born June 27, 1966 in Cleveland, OH, to the parentage of Bishop Rheba McAfee and Mr. Alphonso Bumpus.

Elder Wright was a graduate of Paducah Tilghman High School, and the ITT Technical Institute of Nashville.  In 2011 he began studies at Walden University toward a Master's Degree in Information Systems Management, and in 2015 he graduated from the University of Phoenix.  He was very skilled in building, repairing and programming computers, and continued working with computers until his health began to fail due to an injury not long after he graduated from the University of Phoenix.

Elder Wright was a life-long member of the Church of the Living God, the Pillar and Ground of the Truth where he served in many states. He LOVED CHURCH.  He received God and His power at an early age and spiritually grew into his calling as both a preacher and a teacher.  Elder Wright loved music and had the gifts and talents to play several instruments and was also a gifted singer.

Elder Wright was preceded in death by both his maternal and paternal grandparents.

Elder Wright is survived by: His Parents, Bishop Rheba McAfee of Paducah, KY and Mr. Alphonso Bumpus of Cleveland, OH; Four Sisters, Gracie Wilkins of Paducah, KY, Luttie Polk of Nashville, TN, Elnora Portas of Humble, TX and Vivian Bumpus of Atlanta, GA; Two Brothers, Dennis Bumpus of Washington, DC and Durward Perry of Smyrna, TN; A Host of Aunts, Uncles, Nieces, Nephews, Great-Nieces and Nephews, Cousins, and Friends.

Graveside services are scheduled for Friday, February 2, 2024, 1:00 p.m. at Oak Grove Cemetery in Paducah with Apostle Barbara Bolden officiating.

Family will receive friends from 12:00 p.m. until 12:45 p.m. at Pettus Rowland Funeral Home.
