Effie Lee Maxwell of Louisville, KY formerly of Paducah, was born the 6th child to John B. Bynum and Augusta Round Bynum on 01/15/1935. Departed on 01/11/2022 at the University of Louisville Hospital.

She was a member of St. Paul Baptist Church at Shively Heights in Louisville and was a retired private sitter.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Reverend Leon Maxwell, her parents, John and Augusta Bynum, four brothers, William, L.C., Henry and J. B. Bynum; three sisters, Cora Johnson, Julie Bullock and Lillie Bell.

She is survived by two daughters , Gloria Crawford of Revere, MA and Lisa Clark of Louisville, KY; three sons, Dr. Leroy Maxwell of Selma, AL, Larry Maxwell of Kansas City, MO and Jasper Maxwell of Paducah, KY; thirteen grandchildren, eleven great-grandchildren, several nieces, nephews and friends.

Funeral services are scheduled for Saturday, January 22, 2022, 12 noon at Mt. Moriah Missionary Baptist Church with Rev. Calvin R. Cole, Sr. officiating.  Burial will follow in Maplelawn Park Cemetery.

Friends may call Saturday at the church from 11:00 a.m. until the funeral hour.

All in attendance are required to wear a mask.
