Edward Veon Maxwell, Sr., age 79, of Paducah, passed away Monday, July 5, 2021, 10:02 a.m., at Baptist Health Hospital of Paducah.

He was a member of Mt. Moriah Missionary Baptist Church where he served as an usher.  He attended the former Lincoln High School and also retired as a hotel security officer.

He is survived by three sons , Manulito (Tamara) Maxwell of Paducah, Gregory (Johnita) Ware and Charles Ware, both of Louisville, KY ; three daughters , Leontyne Maxwell Garnett and Monalita (Robert) Maxwell Murphy, both of Paducah and Tracey Cawthon Steen of Mayfield; sixteen grandchildren ; nineteen great-grandchildren ; five great great-grandchildren ; three brothers , James (Jean) Maxwell of Paducah, Joseph (Jill) Maxwell of South Carolina and George (Debra) Maxwell of Murray; two sisters , Gertrude (Frank) Howard of Evansville, IN and Harriet Moody of Marietta, GA; several nieces , nephews and cousins .

He was preceded in death by his son, Edward Veon Maxwell Jr.,  his parents, Harry Edward Maxwell Sr. and Claraella Henderson Maxwell, two grandsons, Torrean Jamar Maxwell and Dorain Hodge; five brothers, Harry Maxwell Jr., Marvin Maxwell, Charles Maxwell, Arthur Eugene Henderson and Emerson Stringfellow; two sisters, Pat Maxwell and Marsha Ann Maxwell Brooks.

Funeral services are scheduled for Thursday, July 15, 2021, 12:00 noon, at Mt. Moriah Missionary Baptist Church with Rev. Manulito Maxwell and Rev. Donna G. Hawkins officiating.  Burial will be at a later date.

Friends may call Thursday at the church from 11:00 a.m. until the funeral hour.
