Eddie Lewis Blanton, Sr. was born on April 11, 1941 in Paducah, Kentucky.  He departed this life on August 26, 2022 at Baptist Health Hospital in Paducah, Kentucky.

He received his early education in catholic school.  He was a graduate of Rosary Chapel Catholic School and entered the United States Army upon graduation.  He served in the United States Army from August 1962 until being honorably discharged in November of 1964.  He was employed by the Pepsi-Cola Bottling Company and later was employed at GAF Corporation until his retirement.

Eddie was a member of Macedonia Missionary Baptist Church.

Throughout his life, Eddie was a avid fisherman and hunter and he never missed deer, rabbit, squirrel or coon season.

He was predeceased by his parents, Marion Delois Blanton and Roscoe Nunn; his grandparents, Opal Blanton-Lindsey and James Lindsey; his sister, Charmaine Thomas-Davis; and his granddaughters, Caden Hannah Delois Lacy and Emily Blanton.

He is survived by his children, Lee Blanton of Gurnee, IL, Monica Blanton-Lacy of Odenton, MD, Eddie Blanton, Jr. (Lorenda) of Zion, IL, Candace Blanton (Gigi) of Grayslake, IL, Eva Harper, Carolyn Prather, Jessie Cole, and Jessica White (all of Paducah, KY), his foster brother, James Kenneth Maxwell (Jean) of Paducah, one niece, Tami Thomas of Paducah, 20 grandchildren, 20 great-grandchildren, 6 great-great grandchildren, two cousins, Joyce Donelson and Lewis Perry and a host of friends.

Funeral services are scheduled for Tuesday, September 6, 2022, 12 noon at Macedonia Missionary Baptist Church with Reverend Donna G. Hawkins Reverend Michael Wade officiating. Burial will follow in Maplelawn Park Cemetery with military honors.

Friends may call at the church on Tuesday from 11:00 a.m. until the funeral hour.
