Earnest Earl Green accepted his Savior's call to his Heavenly Home at the Ray and Kay Eckstein Hospice Care Center of Paducah on Tuesday, October 1, 2024, at 9:20 p.m. Born in Chicago Heights, IL, to the parentage of the late Emmitt Green and Mary Lydia Wimberly Green, he had spent his mortal life for 70 years, 11 months and 26 days.

Earnest was affectionately known by family and friends as either "Spiderman" or "Cooly".  He was of the Baptist faith and had attended Brookport Unity Missionary Baptist Church, in Brookpor, IL.  A 1971 graduate of Brookport High School, Earnest enrolled at Shawnee Community College where he studied in the field of social work.  He was also formerly employed in the maintenance department at the Paducah Housing Authority. Earnest was both a quiet-humble man and a proud father who had many friends and acquaintances.  He was a born "Sports Enthusiast" and a strong sports competitor who closely followed both basketball and softball of which he was a member of a softball traveling team.  His favorite teams included, but were not limited to the Philadelphia 76ers, Pittsburgh Steelers, St. Louis Cardinals and the University of Louisville Cardinals. Earnest even had a favorite sports player, Julius Erving, who had won three championships, four Most Valuable Player awards and three scoring titles with the NBA's New York Nets (now the NBA's Brooklyn Nets) and the NBA's Philadelphia 76ers.  Earnest was not only into sports, but was also one who enjoyed watching his westerns, especially "Gunsmoke".

Earnest leaves his many family members and friends to remember his legacy: His Life-Long Partner of 42 Years, Gloria Shannon of Brookport, IL; Four Children, Eric Priddy of Frankfort, Kentucky, Gloria Fuqua of Louisville, KY, Renisha (Mancell) Elam of Louisville, KY and Bradley Shannon of Brookport, IL; Two Bonus Daughters, Felecia Shannon-Cummings (T.J) of Brookport, IL and Susie Simmons of Metropolis, IL; Four Grandchildren, T.J.
