Earl Phillip Johnson, Sr., age 88, of Paducah, passed away, Tuesday, January 12, 2021, 6:05 a.m., at Baptist Health Paducah.

He was a member of Harrison Street Missionary Baptist Church where he served in the Brotherhood Ministry and as a greeter. Earl was a Lincoln High School Graduate. He was an associate at Michael's Hardware and retired from Laborers Local 1214 and was a Veteran of the United States Army, having served during the Korean War.

He is survived by one daughter , Barbara Johnson of Louisville, KY; four sons , Earl (Gracie) Johnson Jr., of Riverside, CA, Gregory (Michelle) Johnson of Boston, MA, Bradford (Kyrishia) Johnson of McDonough, GA, and Darrell Nelson of Paducah; eight grandchildren ; three great-grandchildren ; several nieces, nephews and cousins .

He was preceded in death by his parents, Howard Johnson and Mattie Lou Walker Johnson; one daughter, Ruthie McNichols; two brothers, Howard Johnson Jr. and Sonny Bucks Sams, four sisters, Ruthie Mae Alvies, Roberta Johnson, Lola Triggs and Stella Johnson.

A Memorial service has been scheduled for Saturday, January 30, 2021, 11:00 a.m., at Pettus-Rowland Funeral Home with Rev. James L. Hudson officiating.
