METROPOLIS, Ill. — Dorothy Mae Smith Roberts, 89, of Metropolis died at 10:35 a.m. Friday at Massac Memorial Hospital.
Mrs. Roberts worked for Johnson & Johnson Attorney at Law as a secretary. She was a graduate of Karnak High School. She was a member of Women's Aglow-Women's Prayer Group.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Willis Eudell Roberts; five sisters; and four brothers. Her parents were Harry Lynn and Lou Ethel Jordan Smith.
Mrs. Roberts is survived by two sons, Larry Eudell Roberts of Metropolis, and Willis Lamont Roberts of Sandwich; two sisters, Rebecca Jane Coiley of Metropolis and Ethel Louise Brewer of Park Forest; one brother, the Rev. Lafayette Smith of Kansas City, Mo.; one grandson; one granddaughter; and several nieces, nephews and cousins.
Services will be at noon Thursday at First Missionary Baptist Church in Metropolis. The Rev. Garnell Edwards will officiate. Interment will follow at Oddfellow Cemetery.
