Dorothy S. Lovelace, age 96, of Paducah, passed away on Sunday, August 4, 2019, 10:02 a.m., at her residence.

Dorothy was a member of New Bethel Freewill Baptist Church in Brookport, IL where she served on the mother's board.

She was a writer and editor for Metropolis Planet and the Shady Grove Newspaper and co-owner and operator of Dot and Joe's Restaurant.

She was preceded in death by her husband Joseph Lovelace; parents William Morris and Mary Tanner Morris, son Michael Neal Sr., five brothers and five sisters.

She is survived by one daughter; Lynda White of Paducah; five grandchildren; eleven great-grandchildren; three great great-grandchildren; several nieces, nephews cousins.

Funeral services are scheduled for Saturday, August 10, 2019, 12 Noon, at Mt. Moriah Missionary Baptist Church with Rev. Ronnie White and James George officiating. Burial will follow in Shady Grove Cemetery in Brookport, Illinois.

Friends may call on Saturday at the church from 10:00 a.m. until the funeral hour.
