A memorial service for Dorothy B. Harris, 80, of Paducah, was held at 11 a.m. Saturday, February 21, 2009, at Pettus-Rowland Funeral Home. Rev. Anthony Walton officiated, and burial was at Oak Grove Cemetery.
Mrs. Harris died at 10:33 p.m. Jan. 23 at Western Baptist Hospital.
Mrs. Harris, a saleswoman, was a member of Christ Temple Apostolic Church, attended nursing school in Indiana, was a Paducah Ambassador and a former president of the Brunch Club, a former member of Queen Esther Chapter No. 4, Order of the Eastern Star, and was a member of the Union Usher Board.
Survivors include two daughters, Brenda Trice-Allen of Henderson, Nev., and Sharon Trice-Henderson of Louisville; one stepdaughter, Beverly Trice-Cole of Louisville; five grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; and several cousins.
She was preceded in death by her husband of 26 years, Hugh Harris; one daughter, Debra Bonds; and one great-grandson. Her parents were George Boone and Mary Alice Gatlin.
There will be no visitation.
