Donna Beatrice Tracey James, of Paducah, passed away on Monday, May 2, 2022 7:16 a.m. at her residence. At the time of her passing, Donna had reached the age of 52 years. She was the daughter of the late Willis Lee and Essie Delores Johnson James.

Donna was a faithful member of Ninth Street Tabernacle Ministries where she worked in the Children's Church. She was a very active community member serving as a supervisor and volunteer at E-Homes, an organization that makes repairs on homes for qualified homeowners.

Preceding her in death were her father, Willie Lee James and two brothers, Marshall Lee James and Christopher Lee.

Donna received an Associate Degree in Architectural Drafting from Paducah Community College and a Bachelors' Degree in Human Development Leadership from Mid Continent University. She was employed as an Administrative Assistant at McNabb Elementary in Paducah.

Donna was born with a servant's heart. She used a lot of her personal time tutoring children and helping adults acquire their GED. She was always helping people, and she loved a good challenge. Another passion that Donna enjoyed was spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren.

Cherishing her memory are one son, Bradley James of Hermitage, TN; one daughter , Valarie James of Paducah; two granddaughters , Aniya James and Kalea James, both of Hermitage, TN; her mother, Essie Delores Johnson James of Cairo, IL; seven sisters, Allison Lewis of Cape Girardeau, MO, Deneice James of Marion, IL, Delores (Eric Dent) James, Opal Marie James, Valerie James and Takeshia Williams, all of Cairo, IL and Amanda Purchase of Paducah; six brothers , Willie L. James of Cairo, IL,  Michael Eugene. James of Villa Rica, GA, Otha Don James of Metropolis, IL, Michael Eugene Lee of Cleveland, OH, Cortez Lamont Lee of Paducah, and Darrell Lee James of Union, MO; one uncle , Willie Scott of Cleveland, OH; and a host of nieces, nephews and cousins. Her special friends, Iris Forrest Horice, Rona Knox, Kassandra Irvin-Sharpe, Monica Noland, Venita DeFreeze, Michelle Jones-Wilson, and Lynn Harriford.

Funeral services are scheduled for Friday, May 6, 2022, 12 Noon at Ninth Street Tabernacle Ministries with Reverend Dr. Thaddyeus W. Thompson, Sr. officiating.

Family and friends may call Friday at the church from 11:00 a.m. until the funeral hour.

All attendees are required to wear a mask.
