Delois Evelyn Davis (Lois) was born on April 20, 1932 to the union of the late Stephen and Addie Jean Coburn in Collierville, Tennessee. Seven of thirteen children, her brothers, John Will, Arlanda, Freddie, LC Coburn, and Wilbert Chalmers, as well as her sisters, Maedell Guy, Mildred Cunningham, Jaunita Byrd, and Cora Kelly (step-sister) have all preceded her in death. Sunday October 31, 2021 at 4:19 a.m. Delois made her transition to her home of eternal resting place.
Delois accepted Christ as her personal Lord and Savior at a very young age at Wright Chapel in Collierville, Tennessee.
Delois married the late Huey P. Blake, Sr. and moved to River Rouge, Michigan in 1950. To this union four children were born. Her daughter, Jacqueline Blake preceded her in death. Also her grandson Michael Blake, great grandson Rio Bell and granddaughter Kashara Blake.
Delois joined Union Second Baptist Church in 1966 under the leadership of the late Reverend E. C. Copeland. She sang in the Excelsior Choir.
Delois married her late husband Rube Davis, Jr. in November 1990 and later moved to Paducah, Kentucky. In 1993 Delois joined Harrison Street Missionary Baptist Church under the leadership of Reverend Edward Ballard.
Delois was a beautician for 25 years. She retired from River Rouge Board of Education after working for 20 years. She enjoyed singing, bowling, line dancing, shooting pool, dominos, and traveling. She was admired and loved by all that got to know her.

Blake; Three Sisters, Sarah Brown, Geraldine Pitts and Wilma Jean Bland; Four Grandchildren, Tika Blake, Ernest Blake, Kashuna Blake, andKashun Blake; Twelve Great Grandchildren; Fi ve Great-Great Grandchildren; Very good and dear friend, Lucy Roberson; Goddaughter, Patrice Glore; Godsons, Dan Johnson, Delvonne Bevineau, and Tyreece Allen; A host of nieces, nephews, other relatives, many friends, Pastor and Harrison Street Missionary Baptist Church Family.
Funeral services are scheduled for Monday, November 8, 2021, 11:00 a.m., at Harrison Street Missionary Baptist Church with Reverend Dr. James L. Hudson officiating. Entombment will follow in Woodlawn Memorial Gardens.
Friends may call at the church on Monday from 10:00 a.m. until the funeral hour.
All attendees are required to wear masks.
