Deborah Denise Fly Robinson, known to her loved ones as Deborah, passed away peacefully on October 27, 2023, at the age of 67 in Nashville, TN. She was born on January 23, 1956, in Paducah, KY, to Elva Mae Carruthers and Samuel L Taylor. Deborah was preceded in death by her mother, father, and grandmothers, Georgia Mae Taylor and Viola Fly and two precious Grandchildren, Tatyana Robinson, and Dayvonn Robinson.

Deborah was a strong and creative woman who loved and protected her family with all of her heart. She was known for standing up for children and their needs, and her greatest joy came from making beautiful things for her family and friends. Deborah's talent for creating beautiful home decor, wreaths, and floral arrangements brought joy to those around her.

Deborah's educational journey included graduating from Paducah Tilghman High in 1974 and attending Draughon's Business College and Western KY University. She pursued a career as an entrepreneur and also served with the McCracken County Juvenile Detention Services.

Deborah found solace and community at Washington St Baptist Church, where she served with the Culinary Ministry. Her faith was an important part of her life.

Deborah leaves behind a loving husband of 47 years, David Robinson Sr., their two children, Tywana Robinson and David Robinson Jr., a legacy of six grandchildren, Damerra Smith, Dakota Tucker, Damon Robinson, Darrius Ellison, Desire Brooks, and Zeruiah Robinson, five great-grandchildren; Samiya Deberry, Paisley Smith, Khalil Deberry, Amir Maxie and Javier Smith. She is also survived by her brothers, Dale Young (Sandra), David Clark (Monica), Jamieson Frazier, and Quincy Jackson, sisters, Cynthia Fly, Rachel Clark, Doris Clark-Starr, Joyce Carruthers, Lavonda Carruthers and Teresa Phillip (Billy), two aunts, Erma Jean Fly and Nancy Lee, a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, in-laws and friends.  Deborah was known as an aunt, sister-in-law, adopted mother, cousin, and most importantly, a friend to a host of friends and family who will surely miss her. She was the "glue" of the family, bringing everyone together with her love and care.

Deborah's kindness, creativity, and love for her family and friends will be deeply missed. Her legacy will live on in the hearts of all those who had the privilege of knowing her. May she rest in peace.

Funeral services are scheduled for Friday, November 3, 2023, 12 noon at Washington Street Missionary Baptist Church with Reverend Raynarldo Henderson officiating.  Entombment will follow in Woodlawn Memorial Gardens.

Family will receive friends Friday at the church from 11:00 a.m. until the funeral hour.
