Clarence Eugene Nunn, Sr., 74, of Paducah, Ky, passed away peacefully at his residence on Wednesday, October 18, 2023.
He was a 1966 graduate of Paducah Tilghman High School and later attended Kentucky State University.
He retired from the Detroit Police Department after 25 years of service and returned to Paducah where he later became the Executive Director of the Oscar Cross Boys and Girls Club.
He was a faithful member of Mount Moriah Missionary Baptist Church in Paducah where he served as a deacon, usher, member of the official board, and Monday evening prayer ministry.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Roosevelt Nunn, Sr. and Cora Lee Fair Nunn, three grandchildren, Nya Nunn, Tristen Nunn and Melanie LaNee Nunn, three brothers, Roosevelt Nunn Jr., Terry Nunn and Alonzo Bonds.
Leaving behind to cherish fond memories are his wife of 51 years, Melanie E. Nunn; one son, Clarence Nunn Jr. of Dresden, TN; a daughter, Andrea of Decatur, GA; two grandsons, Ayan Keller of Decatur, GA and Anias S. Nunn of Paducah; a bonus daughter, LaToya Johnson Hill of Memphis, TN; one brother, Marvin Nunn of Paducah; two sisters, Carolyn Henderson of Southfield, MI and Vanessa Jones of Paducah; and a several cousins, nieces, nephews, in-laws, godchildren and friends.
Funeral services are scheduled for Saturday, October 28, 2023, 11:00 a.m. at Mt. Moriah Missionary Baptist Church with Reverend Dr. Calvin R. Cole, Sr. and Reverend Dr. James L. Hudson officiating. Entombment will follow in Maplelawn Park Cemetery.
Family will receive friends at the church on Saturday from 10:00 a.m. until the funeral hour.
