Christine "Chris" Peterson Harvey, 70 years, 10 months, and 5 days old, left this earthly life for eternal rest on October 24, 2009, 12:04 a.m. in Memphis Tennessee at the home of her daughter. She was born to the late Billy Peterson and Florence Bowman Peterson on December 19, 1938 in Stanton Tennessee.
Sister Harvey was baptized at St. John Missionary Baptist Church in Dancyville, Tennessee, and later became a member of New Greater Love Missionary Baptist Church in Paducah and served as First Lady to Pastor and Founder Rev. Dr. W. G. Harvey, Sr. Sister Harvey was a faithful and dedicated member of New Greater Love Missionary Baptist Church, always going far and beyond what she could do for the church. Chris took great pride in furnishing and decorating the Minister's Wives Lounge. She was instrumental in helping the Sisterhood to help the Church purchase new kitchen equipment, furniture for the pastor's office, and having the pulpit furniture upholstered. She worked in the Nursery, organized the NGL Prayer Chain, outlined curriculum for the church nursery, director of the former Sisterhood Ministry, assisted in the Outreach Ministry, organized the Graduation and Academic Success program, and was a member of the Sanctuary Choir.
Christine graduated from Carver High School in Tennessee. She earned her Bachelor's Degree from Lane College in Jackson, Tennessee and her Master's Degree from Murray State Univer-sity where she had 32 credit hours toward her Doctorate Degree. Chris retired after 38 long years of dedicated service to the Paducah City School System. She taught 7th grade science and also coached the girls basketball and track. She worked with Murray State University's Project Upward Bound as a Resident Advisor, was a member of Sigma Gamma Rho Sorority, the Paducah Education Association, the Kentucky Education Association, the National Education Association, the Paducah McCracken County Retired Teachers Association, and Phi Delta Kappa National Teacher's Sorority, Gamma Phi Chapter.
Chris was a member of Queen Esther Chapter #4, Order of the Eastern Star, P. H. A. Cecelia Dunlap Grand Chapter Jurisdiction of Kentucky where she served as the Grand Chaplain. She was currently serving as Worthy Matron of Queen Esther Chapter #4.
Harvey was preceded in death by her parents, Billy Peterson and Florence Bowman Peterson; eight brothers and seven sisters.

Four Great Grandchildren: Jontevian McReynolds of Paducah, KY, Adijah McReynolds, Prince McReynolds Kobbi McReynolds, all of Columbus, OH;
One Sister: Vivian Martin of Memphis, TN
Several nieces, nephews, and cousins.
Services are scheduled for 12:00 Noon, Saturday, October 31, 2009, at New Greater Love Missionary Church, 1249 North 12th Street, Paducah, with Reverend Jonathan McReynolds officiating. Burial will follow at Oak Grove Cemetery in Paducah.
The Family will receive visitors Friday, October 30, 2009, from 5:00 P. M. to 7:00 P. M. at New Greater Love Missionary Baptist Church with Eastern Star Rites at 6:00 P. M.
