Charles L. Davis, 66, St. Louis, Missouri, formerly of Paducah, Kentucky, was called to his heavenly home on Friday, August 12, 2022, at Norton Hospital in Louisville, Kentucky. He was born January 17, 1956, in Tiptonville, Tennessee to the late Leautry Davis and Johnnie Palmer Nance.
Charlie was an active member of Olivet Missionary Baptist Church in St. Louis, Missouri where he served as an usher along with the men's ministry. He was a dedicated member of the Prince Hall Masonic Family in Paducah, Kentucky, serving as Past Master for Stone Square Lodge No. 5. Charlie was also Past Commander-In-Chief, Past High Priest, Past Eminent Commander and Past Potentate. He was elevated to the 33 rd Degree of Masonry. Charlie was self-employed and was the owner of C & L Trucking Company in St, Louis, Missouri.
A faithful, strong-willed family man, Charlie loved being with all his family, especially his grandchildren. He was actively engaged in their development whether it was teaching them strategies in the game of chess, how to ride a bike, or simply watching basketball with his grandson. He was a hard worker who was persistent in pursuing his dream of owning his own business which ultimately led to fulfillment of that dream. He was known for tinkering around in his garage and as the president of their family reunions he was admired for the wisdom he imparted to the younger generations.
Preceding him in death were his father, Leautry Davis; his mother, Johnnie Palmer Nance; a step-father, Eldrin Nance, and a brother, Bruce Davis.
He leaves to cherish his loving memory: Two Daughters , Jackie Bradford and Charletha (Titio) Pratt, both of Paducah, KY; One Grandson , Payton Pratt; Three Granddaughters , Jakayln Hardin, Derriona Daniels and Mya'Jaymes Hardin, all of Paducah KY; Two Brothers , James (Linda) Davis of Nashville, TN and Dexter Davis; Three Sisters , Phyllis Ann Gene of Savannah, Ga, Beverly (Reginald) Thomas of Ridgely, TN, and Adrian Crawford of Tiptonville, TN; Two Uncles , Henry (Vernia) Pearson of Belleville, IL, and Isom (Trip) Triplett; the mother of his daughters , Kaye Davis of Paducah, KY, and Step-Mother, Rita Davis, St. Louis, MO; Several Nieces, Nephews, Cousins and Friends .
Funeral services are scheduled for Saturday, August 20, 2022, 12 noon at Pettus Rowland Funeral Home with Reverend Henry Pearson and Reverend Vernia Pearson officiating.
Masonic rites will be held at 10:00 a.m. with the visitation following at 11:00 a.m. until the funeral hour.
Burial will follow in Oak Grove Cemetery.
Mask are required for all attendees.
