Charles Vincent Hicks, Jr., 56, of Paducah, died Monday, October 20, 2008, at his residence.

He was Functional Manager for Scheduling at United States Enrichment Corporation and a Veteran of the US Navy. He was a member of the Board of Directors at the Oscar Cross Boys and Girls Club and a member of both the Elks Club and the American Legion in Vicksburg, Mississippi. Charlie received his Bachelor of Science Degree from Thomas A. Edison State College in Trenton, New Jersey.

He was preceded in death by his father Charles V. Hicks, Sr.

Hicks is survived by his wife of 34 years Lynda Ann Dukes Hicks of Paducah; his mother Ruby German Hicks of Jackson, MS; two sons Darius Vincent Hicks of Chicago, IL and Brian Charles Hicks of Paducah; a daughter Jessica Autumn Hicks of Paducah; five grandchildren; three sisters Calmeater Jones of Chicago, IL, Juanita Woods of Detroit, MI, and Janie Hicks of Jackson, MS; four brothers Chester A. Hicks of Houston, TX, Emill Hicks and Kenneth Hicks, both of Chicago, IL, and Aundria Hicks of Jackson, MS; four aunts; and several nieces, nephews, and cousins.

Services are scheduled for 11:00 a.m., Saturday, at Ninth Street Tabernacle Ministries with Chester A. Hicks officiant. Interment will follow at Woodlawn Memorial Gardens.

The family will receive visitors from 7 p.m. until 8 p.m. on Friday at Pettus-Rowland Funeral Home and again on Saturday from 10:00 a.m. until the funeral hour at Ninth Street Tabernacle Ministries.
