Obituary

Charles E. Copeland, 68, of Paducah, died Thursday, 10:36 p.m. at Lourdes Hospital.

He was retired from the United States Enrichment Corporation where he was in the Maintenance Department and was a retired Jailer from the McCracken County Jail. He received his Associate Degree from the University of Mississippi and was a graduate of the Institute of Electrical Technology in Nashville, Tennessee. Copeland was a veteran of the United States Air Force. He was of the Baptist Faith.

He was a member of Stone Square Lodge #5, F & AM where he was Past Master,a member of Balkis Temple #157, Past Eminent Commander of Malachi Commandry #26, Past High Priest of Mt. Horr #10 Royal Arch Masons, member of Paducah Consistory #92, and Past Grand Officer of the Holy Royal Arch Masons of the State of Kentucky.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Edward R. George and Dorothy Bell Copeland and a great granddaughter.

Copeland is survived by his wife, Patricia Copeland; eight daughters, Adonnus Sains, Vonda Copeland, Constance Copeland and Carolyn(Candy) Hutcherson all of Paducah,KY; Terra Copeland of Jacksonvile, NC; Sharon Burrell of Columbus, OH; Marquetta (Markie) Copeland of St. Louis, MO and Stephanie Blair of Nashville, TN; a Son, Anthony (Pappy) Sains of Paducah, KY; 20 Grandchildren and 13 Great-Great Grandchildren, Two Brothers, Calvin Copeland and David Copeland both of Anderson, IN; A Sister, Carolyn Williams of Anderson, IN, several nieces and nephews.

Services will be held on Tuesday, December 7, 2010, 11:00 a.m. at the Greater Lincoln Heights Missionary Baptist Church with Michael Pryor officiating. Burial will follow in Woodlawn Memorial Gardens.

The family will receive visitors on Monday, December 6, 2010 at the Greater Lincoln Heights Baptist Church from 5:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. Masonic rites will be conducted at 6:00 p.m.

Friends may also call at the church on Tuesday after 10:00 a.m. until the funeral hour.
