On Wednesday, September 23, 2020, 9:54 p.m., Cameron Dwight Brewer transitioned peacefully into eternal life from his residence in Paducah, Kentucky, at the age of 70 years, 5 months and 18 days. Cameron entered this world on April 5, 1950 to his late parents, Adrian Brewer and Ann B. Gray Brewer. Cameron is also preceded in death by his grandson Jisiah Broady.
Cameron surrendered his life to the Lord and joined the Central Baptist Church in Louisville, KY and later joined Mt. Zion Missionary Baptist Church of Paducah, KY where he faithfully served on the Deacon Board, the Culinary Arts Committee, and the Church Security Team. He was known to love to "Praise the Lord".
Cameron attended Wayne University where he received his Associates' Degree in Psychology and was formerly employed with the Iron Workers Local 782. He loyally served his country in the United States Marine Corps during the Vietnam Era and received his honorable Discharge in July 1969. He was a member of both the local American Legion and the VFW.
Cameron , a man who believed in living everyday as if was his last, enjoyed listening to his music, especially the blues. He truly loved his grandchildren. Cameron was both a member and manager of the "Joyful Noise" gospel group. He also was quite fond of watching westerns, showing his dancing moves and traveling to as many different locations as he could.
Those remaining to cherish his memories are His Wife of 29 Years , Margaret Abraham Brewer of Paducah, KY ; Two Daughters , Andrea (Jarmel) Brewer-Hopson of Louisville, KY and Chenoa (Brian Boyd) Abraham of Greenville, SC ; Two Sons , Clinton Brewer of Fredonia, KY and Dwight Brewer of Metropolis, IL ; Ten Grandchildren , Javen Brewer, Jacobi Powell, Sarai Abraham, Isaac Abraham, Kalaya Kenley, Dontarius Brewer, Jarmel Hopson, Jr., Jasia Hopson, Katalaya Brewer, and Kamryn Loving; One Great-Grandson , Zaidyn Brewer; One Goddaughter , Lanen Kenley, Mayfield, KY; One Sister , Regina Brewer Stubblefield, of Paducah, KY ; One Brother , William Brewer, of Paducah, KY ; Several Nieces , Nephews , Cousins , Friends , and A Special Family Who Nurtured Him , Arlanda "Pam" Harris and Monica Bell, Both of Paducah, KY , Charles "Butch" Crockett and David Crockett, Both of Carbondale, IL , Eddie (Sylvia) Crockett of West Palm Beach, FL ; Chrissy Crockett, Arlandra Crockett and Jatavia Harris-Crockett, All of Nashville, TN , and Keane Crockett of Ohio .
Cameron Dwight Brewer, "The Man Who Could Dress For The Occasion" , will be forever loved and dearly missed by all who knew and loved him for the legend he was.
Services will be held on Saturday, October 10, 2020, 1:00 p.m. at Calvary Baptist Church, 270 Clements Street with Reverend Michael Wade officiating. Friends may also call at the church on Saturday from 11: a.m. until the funeral hour.
