Brandon L. Grubbs, Sr., age 42 of Paducah, KY, passed away on Friday, July 8, 2022, 8:59 p.m. at Baptist Health Paducah.
Brandon, a Paducah Tilghman graduate, was a faithful member of Pleasant Grove Missionary Baptist Church in Paducah where he was actively involved in the audio ministry, maintenance of the church van and was a deacon in training.
Brandon, a.k.a the "dog whisperer", was employed at Advance Auto Parts as a general manager where he was well-loved by customers, staff, and employees. He was a big man with a huge heart who dearly loved his family, the Green Bay Packers, and Louisville Cardinals basketball. His love and affection for family was demonstrated in his "no nonsense" approach to parenting. He taught his children, especially his sons, to respect others and themselves at all times both in their attire and speech.
Leaving behind to cherish many wonderful memories are his loving spouse , Heather Coffie Grubbs; one daughter , Aleczandrea "Peanut" Coffie; two sons , Brandon "BJ" Grubbs, Jr. and Mason "Moose" Grubbs; his mother , Wilma Grubbs; his father , Reverend Fred Ford, Sr., all of Paducah; three sisters , Lucretta Grubbs of Clarksville, TN, Stacey (Raymond) Cobb and De'Chenea Lovett; one brother , Fred (Jackie) Ford, Jr., all of Paducah; two grandchildren , Braylen Grubbs and Bran'leigh Grubbs, both of Paducah; two nieces , Jean'Kyrean Shaw and Aprionna Ford; seven nephews , Markell Welch, Javon Ford, Stefan Fitzgerald, Jr., Chris Pearson, Anias S. Nunn, Khiland Moss, J'Anyas Grubbs, Zayden Lovett and Zyon Lovett, all of Paducah; his mother and father-in-law, Andrea Coffie and Earl "Big E" Coffie, both of Paducah; one sister-in-law , Jessica Coffie of Lexington, KY; a grandmother , Colleen Hardy of Brookport, IL; three devoted cousins , William Grubbs, Jonathan George, Sr., and Kita Grubbs; eight aunts, Lovie Nell Jones of East St. Louis, Il, Ruth Oliver, Lillian Ford, Mary Louise Graves, Lynette Brown, Vickie Dale, all of Cairo, Il; Janice Davis of Cape Girardeau, MO; six uncles, William Ford, Jr., Wilbur Reid of Brookport, IL, Guan Grubbs of Jackson, TN, Chris Blanks of Lancaster, CA, Anthony Grubbs of Paducah, and Cecil Smith of Cairo, IL ; one great aunt , Myrtle Hogains of Inglewood, CA; two great uncles , Clyde Carruthers of Brookport, IL and Gaylon Grubbs of Paducah; along with several cousins and friends.
Preceding him in death were his grandparents, Ethelbert Leo and Dorothy Mae Pratt, grandfathers Jewell Grubbs and William Ford, Sr.; one aunt, Geraldine "Sweet Pea" Grubbs; and two uncles, William Reid and Terry Howell.
Brandon was a man who stood by his principles and enjoyed helping others. The family will enjoy watching the seeds that he planted in the minds and hearts of the young people he met and mentored come to fruition.
A funeral service is scheduled for Friday, July 15, 2022, 11:00 a.m. at Greater Lincoln Heights Missionary Baptist Church with Rev. James Hudson and Rev. Anthony Daniels are officiating. Entombment will follow at Maplelawn Park Cemetery.
Friends may call at the church on Friday from 10:00 a.m. until the funeral hour.
