BILLY C. ATKINS, JR., a lifelong resident of Paducah, Kentucky, passed away at his residence on April 5, 2026. Born on November 29, 1968, Mr. Atkins was a devoted family man and a respected member of his community.
Billy attended Lone Oak High School and for a period of time, enjoyed a successful career as a salesman for the Kirby Vacuum Cleaner Company, where he was known for his dedication and sales ability. Beyond his work, he was deeply passionate about the outdoors; he enjoyed gardening, hunting, fishing, and karate, finding solace and joy in nature’s embrace. Additionally, Billy was known to enjoy pursuing quiet afternoons playing a game of dominoes.
Billy was a member of Rocky Ford Missionary Baptist Church. He was described as a simple man who enriched the lives of those around him with his gentle spirit and steadfast loyalty.
Billy C. Atkins, Jr. is survived by his daughter, Bethany Atkins of Chicago, Illinois; his mother, Marilyn Sue Fields Bryant of Paducah, Kentucky; two sisters, Caroline Atkins of Morehead, Kentucky, and LaDonna Atkins of Paducah, Kentucky; and two brothers, Tommy Atkins and Allen Atkins, both of Paducah, Kentucky. He also leaves behind two uncles, Clarence Fields and Mark Fields, both of Paducah, Kentucky, along with numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends who will dearly miss his presence. A special friend, Hobby Jean Cox of Paducah, Kentucky, also mourns his loss.
He was preceded in death by his father, Billy Coy Atkins, Sr.
The memory of Billy C. Atkins, Jr. will be cherished by all who knew him, reflecting a life marked by simplicity, family connections and faith through the love of nature.
A Memorial Service for family and friends will be held Saturday, April 11, 2026, 3:00 pm, at Pettus-Rowland Funeral Home with Minister Donna Fox and Minister Linda Henderson officiating. Friends may also call on the family on Saturday, April 11, 2026, at the funeral home from 2:30 pm until the memorial hour.
Burial will follow at a later date in Smithland, Kentucky in the Smithland Cemetery.
