Obituary

Beatrice "Beatty" Louise Patterson White was born on July 11, 1944, and took her rest at 1:17 p.m. on January 20, 2024 at Baptist Health Paducah.  She was a homemaker and accepted Jesus Christ as her Lord and Savior at an early age and was baptized at Ninth Street Church of Christ in Paducah, Kentucky.

Beatrice attended Lincoln High School and was united in holy matrimony to Edward E. White, Sr.

Beatrice was a big fan of baseball and her favorite teams were the St. Louis Cardinals and the Chicago Cubs. She loved cooking turnip greens and making hot tamales. Her hobbies were fishing, playing BINGO, and sitting around the card table playing Tonk with her friends.

She had a reputation throughout the city for being "dressed to the nines" and her children coined her as "Paducah's #1 Diva".

Beatrice was preceded in death by her husband, Edward Euratha White, Sr.; her parents, Paul William Patterson and Dorothy Louise Bolen Patterson; one grandson, Edward Joshua White; three brothers, Joe E. Cole, Robert Lee Patterson and Ray Edward Patterson; and three sisters, Geneva Combs, Gladys Faye Patterson Thomas, and Pearlie Lamar Wesson Patterson.

She is survived by five children, Kenneth Bichion Patterson, Edward Euratha White, Jr., Andiamo Martelle (Terrie) White, Shanocia Kay White, and Christopher LaPaul White, Sr.; two brothers, William Paul Patterson, Jr. and Michael Patterson; two sisters, Dorothy Jean Young and Dimmia Jean Lee; 21 Grandchildren; two Great-Grandchildren; an abundance of nieces, nephews and cousins that she considered her children; and a host of special friends including Shirley Bunch and Rhonda Smith.
