Barbara Jean Burris, age 71, of Paducah, formerly of Cairo, IL, passed away Friday, February 5, 2021, 4:10 p.m., at her residence.

She was of the Baptist faith and a retired administrative assistant at Westvaco for 46 years.

She is survived by one brother , Rev. Ronnie (Jeanine) Woods of Olmsted, IL; one grand-daughter , Keyana Woods of Springfield, IL; two great-granddaughters , Beliar McKinney and Akemi McKinney both of Springfield, IL; several nieces, nephews, and cousins .

She was preceded in death by her parents, Roy A. Woods, Sr. and Algeria Woods; one son, Kevin Woods; and one brother Roy A Woods, Jr.

A memorial service is scheduled for Saturday, February 27, 2021, 11:00 a.m., at St. Paul African Methodist Episcopal Church in Metropolis, IL, with Rev. Ronnie Woods and Rev. Pam Carlton officiating.  Burial in Spencer Heights Cemetery in Mounds, IL, will follow at a later date.

Friends may also call at the church on Saturday from 10:00 a.m. until the memorial hour.

Due to state mandated Covid-19 restrictions, those who attend are asked to have on a face mask before entering the church and to maintain a social distance of six feet.
