IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Barbara Maria
Browning-Patterson
September 27, 1961 – December 6, 2024
Barbara Maria Browning-Patterson, age 63, peacefully entered the presence of her heavenly Father on Friday, December 6, 2024, at her residence. The daughter of the late Harlan Browning, Sr. and the late Lyda R. Bishop Browning, she graced the world with her presence on September 27, 1961, in Metropolis, Illinois.
Barbara was a 1979 graduate of Paducah Tilghman High School. After high school she continued her education receiving certification in tailoring from West Kentucky Vocational School and certification in electronics from West Kentucky Community Technical College.
Barbara loved the Lord and gave Him her heart and soul. She was a faithful, dedicated member of Just By Faith Ministries in Metropolis, Illinois, where she served as a Deaconess, member of the Board of Trustees, church clerk, and choir. She absolutely loved to sing and blessed many people as a member of the ensemble Higher Love. Additionally, she sang in her church choir as well as with other area mass choirs. As a reward for her dedication and service to mankind she was named a Duchess of Paducah.
Barbara possessed one of the sweetest personalities one could ever imagine. She welcomed everyone with a smile and was always willing to help anybody she could at any time. She loved spending time with her family, especially the grandchildren. In her leisure time she enjoyed traveling and playing games on her tablet such as Phase 10 and Sip and Paint.
Preceding her in death were her parents, three brothers, Steven Browning, Harlan Browning, Jr., Christopher Browning, and one sister, Regina Jarvis.
