Atona Churron Hill, age 51, of Paducah, passed away on Tuesday October 18, 2022, 11:53 p.m. at Mercy Health Lourdes.

Atona was of the Christian Faith.  She was a 1989 Paducah Tilghman High School graduate and later became a wonderful caregiver.  Atona also served as a Support Counselor, Residential Training Counselor, Personal Care Provider, and an In-House Case Manager; her talents were utilized in many areas of employment.

Atona had a "Servant's Heart", especially in community service. She possessed a giving spirit and was very generous at all times.  Her communication skills in her everyday life were exceptional.  She had mercy and compassion toward everyone.  Atona loved all her family dearly.  She liked to play bingo and was quite fond of decorating and gardening.  Whenever time allowed, she enjoyed traveling to various destinations.  One could find a wide smile on her face as she prepared for her favorite time of the year, Christmas.  If we could describe her, we would have to say, "Atona enjoyed "The Finer Things In Life" .

Atona will be greatly missed and still loved by her family and friends: Her Son , Laken S. Pelt; Her Parents , Waddell F. (Meta) Hill, Sharon E. Fitzgerald (Dan L.) Overstreet and Leroy (Terry) Ellis; Her Siblings , Waddell Hill II, Michael Hill, LaSharma Hill, King Timothy Fitzgerald, Sharla (Minister Jewel) Wilson, Dan (Akeshea) Overstreet, Sharon Overstreet, LaVonnia Bowman, Leshia Bibbs, Alvin Overton, Terrece Hill Zachery, Tonya Cooper, Denise Overton; Danielle Fisher, Brandon Hill, and Tony Williams; A Host of Nieces, Nephews, Cousins, Aunts, Uncles, and Friends including Special Friends, Lucinda Phill, Baba, June, Jada along with a Host of Other Special Friends.

She was preceded in death by her maternal grandparents, Milton and Carrie Fitzgerald, paternal grandparents, William and Opal Hill and Herbert Matchem.

Funeral services are scheduled for Saturday, October 29, 2022, 11:00 a.m. at New Greater Love Church with Reverend Dr. Dartanya G. Hill, Sr., officiating.  Burial will follow in Oak Grove Cemetery.

Family and friends may call at the church on Saturday from 10:00 a.m. until the funeral hour.
