Arthur Lee Cooper, 83, of Paducah, passed away Friday, March 24, 2017, 8:50 a.m., at Baptist Health of Paducah.
He was a member of Ninth Street Church of Christ.
Arthur was a retiree of West Kentucky Vocational and Technical College where he was employed as an instructor of brick masonry. He received his associate's degree from Murray State University. He was a veteran of the United States Army.
Arthur was preceded in death by his parents, Christopher Columbus Cooper and Eliza Jane Harmon Cooper, three brothers, and two sisters.
He is survived by his wife, Jearlene Cooper of Paducah; six sons, Roy Lee Cooper and Mark Cooper, both of Paducah, Patrick Cooper of Clarksville, TN, Johnifer Cooper of Memphis, TN, Joe Nathan Peason of Jackson, TN and Tim Parker of Lexington, TN; four daughters, Deborah Ann Norris of Ft. Worth, TX, Staphine Sykes of Decatur, IL, Tina Tyler of Paducah and Brenda Anderson of Elgin, IL; 24 grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; four brothers, Houston Cooper and William H. Cooper, both of Milwaukee, WI, Ben Cooper and James Cooper, both of Lexington, TN; two sisters, Ruby Cupps and Deloris Sharp, both of Lexington, TN; several nieces, nephews, and cousins.
Funeral services will be held Saturday, April 1, 2017, 11:00 a.m., at the Ninth Street Church of Christ with Mark Rowe and Victor Norris, Sr. officiating. Burial will follow in Oak Grove Cemetery with military rites.
Friends may call on the family on Friday, March, 31, 2017, from 7:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. at Ninth Street Church of Christ.
Friends may also call on Saturday at the church from 10:00 a.m. until the funeral hour.
