Obituary

Angelo Joann Lawrence, lovingly called “Joann” by those who knew and loved her was born in Paducah, Kentucky as the loving daughter of Leona Lawrence and the late Joe Lawrence, Jr., on February 23, 1966.

Joann was a 1984 graduate of Paducah Tilghman High School and was employed as a cashier at Five Star.

Joann, although a private-natured individual, was loving, caring, and a hard-working woman. At times she could be brutally honest; and it was a known fact that if Joann didn’t care for a person, she would surely make them aware in her own way. She was a sports fan and played little league softball in Barkley Park in her youth and her mother was her coach. Joann’s favorite basketball team was the Los Angeles Lakers and both Kansas City Chiefs and the Dallas Cowboys were her favorite football teams.

Joann leaves a lifetime of fond memories to: Her Two Daughters, Britta Jakes and Porsha Lawrence and Her Mother, Leona McClure Lawrence all of Paducah, KY; Seven Grandchildren, JoVeon Lawrence of Murray, KY, Chakiera Lawrence, Shea Shumpert, Jo’Nyus Lawrence, Ahmien Lawrence, Hayden Jones, and Kay’Mani Lawrence, all of Paducah, KY; One Sister, Belinda Lawrence of Paducah, KY and Two Brothers, David Lawrence of Ft. Wayne, IN and Donald Lawrence of Paducah, KY; Two Uncles, Leslie McClure and Weldon “Bud” McClure, both of Paducah, KY; One Aunt, Patrick “Doll” Jackson of Culp, IL; Several Nieces and Nephews including LaNotti Lawrence, Tierra Lawrence and Javiel Winston, all of Paducah, KY, Cousins and Friends including Special Friends, Edward Shackelford of Paducah, KY, Beverly Anderson of Seattle, WA, Debra Anderson of Wilmington, DE, and Kenny (Tanya) Anderson of Paducah, KY.

Joann was preceded in death by her maternal grandparents, Helen Quisenberry and Weldon McClure and her paternal grandparents, Joseph Lawrence, Sr. and Lorine Sherron Lawrence.

Joann’s quiet nature will always be remembered and cherished with great love.
